A compact, growing index of reliable Linux documentation for people who build and operate systems.
How references are selected
- Primary sources first. Manuals from the people who maintain the software, distribution documentation, and published standards.
- A reason for every link. Descriptions explain the tasks a reference helps with. “Start here” identifies an introduction or the main documentation entry point.
- Version scope is explicit. Upstream manuals can describe features newer than an installed package. Check the local version and manual before applying instructions.
- Different engines, different syntax. Regex references identify POSIX, GNU, and PCRE2 rather than treating all regular expressions as interchangeable.
Search and saved references
Search matches the catalog’s titles, descriptions, publishers, subtopics, command names, and tags. Multiple words must all match; quoted text matches as a phrase. It does not search the full text of external websites. Topic, subtopic, and resource-type filters can be combined.
The address bar retains the active search and filters, so a result view can be bookmarked or shared. Saved references are stored only in the current browser. Clearing site data removes them. Search runs in the browser without a third-party search service.
An index built to grow
Topics, subtopics, resource types, tags, and individual references are maintained in a structured catalog. New entries become searchable and receive the same page layout automatically.
